On November 29, 2025, the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana (AVPN) officially announced the establishment of its China · Guangzhou Campus. The unveiling ceremony was held at the Chaozhou Greater Bay Area City Reception Center in Haizhu District, Guangzhou.

Co-hosted by Guangzhou Sanjiu Italian Cuisine Co., Ltd. and Guangdong Great Bay Industrial Co., Ltd., the event marks the arrival of this century-old, authentic Neapolitan pizza craftsmanship in Guangzhou, China.

Government and business leaders, culinary experts, and representatives from international institutions gathered at the event. Notable attendees included Chinese political and corporate figures Li Rong and Chen Qiqi; AVPN leadership from Italy, including Antonio Pace and Stefano Auricchio; as well as the Consul General of Panama and the Commercial Consul of Canada in Guangzhou. Together, they witnessed this important milestone in Sino-Italian culinary and cultural exchange.

A New Chapter for Sino-Italian Culinary Collaboration

The ceremony opened with remarks by Tan Guangmao, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of Guangdong Guangqing Real Estate Co., Ltd., who emphasized the cultural and industry significance of establishing AVPN’s Guangzhou Campus.

A short AVPN documentary followed, offering guests deeper insights into the history and mission of this world-renowned culinary heritage organization.

Xu Hongsheng, President of the International Trade Committee of the China Hotel Supplies Association

Xu Hongsheng, President of the International Trade Committee of the China Hotel Supplies Association, noted in his speech that the preservation of intangible culinary heritage requires joint efforts from government, enterprises, and industry partners, and that Sanjiu Italian Cuisine has played a key role in fostering Sino-Italian culinary cooperation.

AVPN President Antonio Pace and General Manager Stefano Auricchio then spoke about AVPN’s founding mission—to safeguard the authenticity of true Neapolitan pizza—and shared their vision and high expectations for the Guangzhou Campus.

Building China’s Professional Hub for Authentic Neapolitan Pizza

Sun Guang, Co-founder of Guangzhou Sanjiu Italian Cuisine Co., Ltd., and Luca Di Massa, General Manager of the Guangzhou Campus, also addressed the audience, expressing their commitment to rooting authentic Italian pizza craftsmanship in Guangzhou and developing a world-standard training and brand development system.

Videos introducing the Neapolitan Pizza School and the Olympic Pizza Competition were presented, showcasing the cultural depth and global influence of Neapolitan pizza.

Unveiling Ceremony & Cross-Cultural Celebration

The highlight of the event came as Chinese and international guests jointly unveiled the plaque of the AVPN China · Guangzhou Campus, officially marking the opening of the project.

Following this, collaborative projects with the Beijing Oriental Culinary Academy Training Base and the Guangzhou Master Chef Tan Guohui Cantonese Cuisine Training Room were announced, further promoting interaction between Chinese and Western culinary traditions.

Roasted Pig-Cutting Ceremony

A symbolic roasted pig-cutting ceremony, representing abundance, sharing, and celebration, added a special cultural touch. Guests participated and took commemorative photos to mark the moment.

After the ceremony, attendees toured the flagship store of Sanjiu Cuisine Flagship Shop, gaining firsthand experience of authentic Italian cuisine and restaurant culture.

The establishment of the AVPN Guangzhou Campus brings certified Neapolitan pizza techniques to China and creates a new platform for two-way cultural exchange between China and Italy.

This dual approach of “going global and bringing global expertise in” broadens the boundaries of culinary exchange.

Looking ahead, the Guangzhou Campus will leverage AVPN’s international resources to offer pizza-making training, professional courses, and cultural exchange programs—advancing deeper integration and sustainable development of Chinese and Italian culinary cultures.
