From Seeing to Creating: Cultural Exchange Through Porcelain

The visit also included a hands-on porcelain plate painting experience.

Inspired by traditional blue-and-white motifs as well as elements of Indonesian culture, PIB College students created their own designs on porcelain. Different cultural perspectives and creative expressions came together on the same porcelain surface.

Für PITO, this is another way to keep heritage alive: tradition does not belong only in the past or behind a display case. Through design, Kreativität, and exchange, it can become part of the present.

Bringing Chaozhou Porzellan Culture to the World

Historisch, Chaozhou blue-and-white porcelain traveled across Southeast Asia along the Maritime Silk Road, creating lasting cultural connections with regions including Indonesia.

Heute, these connections continue in new forms.

The PIB College visit further strengthened cultural exchange between PITO and Indonesian educational institutions, while creating a foundation for future exploration in cultural study programs, creative development, and talent exchange.

From Chaozhou to the world, PITO continues to connect immaterielles Kulturerbe, ceramic design, and international exchange.

Keeping tradition visible. Making culture understood. Bringing Chinese porcelain to the world through contemporary expression.
