International Debut of a Premium Ceramic Collection Inspired by Forbidden City Aesthetics

Guangzhou · December 18, 2025
When the chromatic legacy of the Forbidden City meets contemporary ceramic design, a dialogue between history and the future unfolds in Guangzhou. Jointly presented by Beijing Imperial Court Cultural Development Co., GmbH. Und Guangdong Pito Technology Co., GmbH., the premium ceramic collection “Imperial Color, Ceramic Future” was officially unveiled to a global audience at Gongmei Port. Representatives from cultural institutions, the international diplomatic community, commercial organizations, and distribution partners from China and abroad gathered to witness the international debut of a collection rooted in Eastern cultural heritage and shaped for the modern world.

Anchored in the core vision of “Imperial Color, Ceramic Future,” the collection draws inspiration from the architectural order of the Forbidden City, the color language of imperial attire, and the symbolic richness of traditional court patterns. Beijing Imperial Court reexamines iconic visual elements through a contemporary lens, reinterpreting motifs such as Auspicious Crimson Clouds Und Layered Eaves in Polychrome. SPITZE, in turn, translates these cultural expressions into refined, high-end daily-use ceramics through advanced manufacturing systems and meticulous craftsmanship—allowing imperial aesthetics to find renewed relevance within today’s dining rituals.
Während der Veranstaltung, Herr. Pei Huanlu, former Party Secretary and Executive Vice President of the Palace Museum, remarked that the Palace is not only a custodian of history, but also a living cultural system with enduring relevance. Collaborations between cultural institutions and modern manufacturers, he noted, provide a vital pathway for traditional culture to evolve into contemporary forms and integrate meaningfully into everyday life, carrying long-term cultural and social value.

The launch opened with a performance of Yingge Dance, a nationally recognized intangible cultural heritage from the Chaoshan region. Its powerful rhythm and ceremonial presence echoed the sense of order, Stärke, and dignity intrinsic to Forbidden City aesthetics. Herr. Ding Ding, Head of Beijing Imperial Court, emphasized that the beauty of the Forbidden City should not remain confined to historical spaces, but should engage openly with contemporary life and be appreciated within a broader global context.
Herr. Xu Ruisheng, Head of PITO Technology, highlighted that this collaboration extends beyond product development. It represents a comprehensive exploration of cultural translation and brand building. By articulating imperial aesthetics through the language of modern ceramics and embedding cultural meaning into structure and detail, PITO aims to create a premium ceramic brand with lasting vitality and international recognition.

In the product presentation segment, models appeared in palace-inspired attire, presenting the new ceramic pieces amid carefully curated lighting and movement. The display artfully conveyed the harmony between form, Kultur, and function, offering a refined interpretation of Eastern philosophy—where objects serve as vessels of meaning—while illustrating how contemporary ceramics elevate aesthetic experiences in everyday settings. The presentation received strong acclaim from both domestic and international guests.
International attendees noted that the collection successfully integrates cultural depth, contemporary design thinking, and high-standard manufacturing. It offers global consumers a new perspective on Chinese culture while demonstrating the growing competitiveness of China’s high-end cultural lifestyle products on the international stage.

This international debut marks a significant step toward establishing a global framework for Forbidden City–inspired lifestyle aesthetics. It reflects the innovative transformation of cultural resources within a modern industrial context and provides a compelling reference for how Chinese premium cultural products can engage in meaningful dialogue with the world.
