Integrating Design, Cultural Heritage, and Contemporary IP

En febrero 2, Professor Liu Pingyun, Dean of the School of Visual Art and Design at Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, visited the cultural center accompanied by representatives of the Guangqing Group. Professor Liu is the lead designer behind the mascots of the 15th National Games of the People’s Republic of China, a cultural IP that has gained wide public recognition by integrating regional identities from Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao.

Durante la visita, Professor Liu explored the signature techniques of Chaozhou blue and white porcelain, including its distinctive single-firing process that allows cobalt motifs to emerge vividly beneath the glaze. He expressed appreciation for PITO’s approach of preserving traditional craftsmanship while translating it into contemporary design contexts.

As an official commemorative gift supplier for the 15th National Games, PITO has combined Chaozhou porcelain craftsmanship with large-scale cultural events. The commemorative gift created around the National Games mascot symbolized the convergence of intangible heritage, modern design, and sports-related cultural IP.

Diplomatic Exchange and Cross-Cultural Dialogue

En Febrero 4, Señor. Alan Coelho de Séllos, Consul General of the Federative Republic of Brazil in Guangzhou, together with Deputy Consul General Enrico Diogo Moro Gomes, visited the PITO cultural center for an immersive experience of Chaozhou blue and white porcelain.

Guided by the PITO team, the delegation observed the full production process—from clay forming and hand painting to high-temperature firing—and engaged in detailed discussions on decorative techniques, pigments, and cultural symbolism. The visit provided a direct encounter with Chinese ceramic heritage and underscored craftsmanship as a shared cultural language across borders.

PITO extended an invitation for future visits to its production facilities in Chaozhou, with the aim of strengthening cultural exchange and exploring opportunities for bilateral cooperation between China and Brazil in both cultural and commercial fields.

Academic and Industry Perspectives on Heritage Revitalization

Also on February 4, a delegation of scholars and cultural industry professionals visited the Chaozhou Blue and White Porcelain Cultural Center for an in-depth academic and industry exchange. The delegation included Mr. Liu Shou’an, Director at Peking University, together with Mr. Wang Hua and Mr. Yue Chongwen from Beijing Guardian Hui Cultural Technology, acompañado por el señor. The visit focused on the contemporary preservation, creative transformation, and sustainable development of intangible cultural heritage. Guided by the PITO team, the delegation toured the heritage craftsmanship exhibition area, curated porcelain collections, and cultural and creative product spaces, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the historical lineage of Chaozhou blue and white porcelain as well as its modern design applications.

Durante las discusiones, Señor. Liu Shou’an spoke highly of PITO’s approach to balancing tradition and innovation, noting that Chaozhou blue and white porcelain represents not only a significant craft tradition but also an important carrier of Chinese cultural identity. From the perspectives of cultural industry operations and IP development, Señor. Wang Hua and Mr. Yue Chongwen shared insights on market-oriented transformation, cross-sector collaboration, and the long-term vitality of heritage-based cultural projects.

PITO to Return to Ambiente Frankfurt 2026

PITO will participate in the Ambiente Frankfurt, the world’s leading consumer goods trade fair, scheduled for February 6–10, 2026. The exhibition brings together industry professionals from more than 170 countries and regions and serves as a key global platform for design-led consumer brands.
