A Strategic Hub Connecting Global Chaozhou Culture, Industry, and Innovation
Cantão, novembro 18, 2025 — The Chaozhou (UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy) Greater Bay Area Urban Reception Center was officially inaugurated at the Gongmei Port International Digital Innovation Center, located in the heart of the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA).
The ceremony gathered distinguished guests including Wang Wensen, Chairman of the CPPCC Chaozhou Committee and President of the Chaozhou Public Diplomacy Association; Wang Hongjian, Inspector of the CCPIT Guangdong Committee; Hua Honglin, Deputy Secretary and Director of Guangdong Light Industry Holdings Group; Jiang Fan, Director of Chaozhou Overseas Chinese Affairs Office; e Wang Fujun, Standing Committee Member of Haizhu District.
Designed as a high-level platform for cultural experience, international exchange, industrial collaboration, and innovation incubation, the new Reception Center marks a significant milestone in connecting Chaozhou’s rich cultural and industrial strengths with the Greater Bay Area — and with the world.
Four Strategic Pillars Empowering the Platform
During the unveiling ceremony, four institutions were officially introduced:
- Chaozhou (UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy) Greater Bay Area Urban Reception Center
- Office of Members of the CPPCC Chaozhou Committee
- Institute of Culinary and Tableware Art, Hanshan Normal University
- Innovation and Entrepreneurship Incubation Base for Overseas Chinese Youth
Junto, they form the foundation of a comprehensive and self-sustaining development ecosystem.
1. A Global Cultural Reception Center for Chaozhou Heritage
Positioned as an international cultural and business exchange hub, the Reception Center integrates immersive intangible cultural heritage experiences with professional services for exhibitions, product showcases, branding, and premium dining.
The platform will further promote the integration of intangible cultural heritage with modern IP development, bringing Chaozhou ceramics and creative collectibles into contemporary lifestyle with fresh, youthful, and fashionable expressions.

Driven by a forward-looking model combining physical industry, smart technology, and cultural exchange, the Hall supports trade cooperation while shaping the future of the gastronomy ecosystem.

Supported by the global network of young overseas Chaozhou professionals, the base fosters a world-class entrepreneurial environment and injects continuous energy into the international expansion of Chaozhou culture.

With planned masterclasses, heritage showcases, and culinary events led by cultural masters and heritage bearers from China and abroad, the venue will strengthen international cultural engagement and amplify Chaozhou’s global influence.
A Celebration of Heritage and Innovation
The opening ceremony featured a traditional Lingnan lion eye-dotting ritual, symbolizing good fortune. Guests then toured the interior of the Reception Center, experiencing Chaozhou craftsmanship through heritage workshops, kungfu tea ceremonies, and a cross-cultural culinary showcase featuring Chaozhou cuisine and Italian pizza.
The event demonstrated the deep cultural heritage and innovative vitality that anchor Chaozhou’s role in the Greater Bay Area and its accelerating global presence.
